So, there I was, walking in off the street for a beard trim just because I liked the look of the shop in Wilson Street, Glasgow.
While I was waiting I was given a cup of coffee and watched a few minutes of an Akira Kurosawa film, which gave me the notion to photograph in black and white. The idea seemed to capture the essence of Primo and luckily David Tomei, the owner, agreed.
What started out as a few test shots quickly became serious work as everything felt just right, the lighting , the ambience and of course the barbers themselves.
Next time you're in the neighborhood pop in, you'll be made every welcome.
